City Attractions:

Austin State Capitol – Constructed of Texas Pink Granite, the Austin Capitol is the literal heart of the city, centrally located along Congress Avenue. Standing just a bit taller than the National Capitol, this unique building offers daily tours of the rich and vibrant Texas history.


The Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum
– Located in downtown Austin Texas, tells the “Story of Texas” with three floors of interactive exhibits, the special effects show, in the Texas Spirit Theater, and Austin's only IMAX Theatre, featuring the signature large-format film, Texas: The Big Picture.

Blanton
Museum of Art at The University of Texas at Austin - one of the foremost university art museums in the country, and has the largest and most comprehensive collection of art in Central Texas. The museum welcomes and engages all visitors by offering personal, extraordinary experiences that connect art and ideas, reaching within and beyond the university to stimulate the thriving, creative community that is Austin, Texas. The Blanton's permanent collection of more than 18,000 works is recognized for its European paintings, an encyclopedic collection of prints and drawings, and modern and contemporary American and Latin American art.

Lady
Bird Johnson Wildflower Center - Lady Bird Johnson, our former first lady, and actress Helen Hayes founded an organization in 1982 to protect and preserve North America's native plants and natural landscapes. This special place exists to introduce people to the beauty and diversity of wildflowers and other native plants.  The Center’s gardens display the native plants of the Central Texas Hill Country, South and West Texas, while the Plant Conservation Program protects the ecological heritage of Texas by conserving its rare and endangered flora. The Native Plant Information Network is a database of more than 7,200 native species available online.


Barton Springs
– Famous for being the largest natural swimming pool in the country, Barton Springs maintains a constant temperature of 69 degrees year-round and is a great place to relax any time of the year. Thanks to its constant water temperature, the Barton Springs are the site of an annual Christmas swim by local Austinites.


Zilker
Park
– The 350 acre plot of publicly owned land that was donated to the city in 1917 and is the site of the famous Austin City Limits Festival. The park also features botanical gardens, a miniature train, hillside theater, sculpture garden, Barton Springs pool, and more than plenty of space to relax, fly a kite, or play a game of ultimate frisbee.


Austin
Bats
– Underneath the central bridge of the city, the Ann W. Richards Congress Avenue Bridge, the largest urban population of Mexican free-tailed bats live and thrive. Starting in February, over 1.5 million of these bats will make their grand entrance into the night just under the bridge at sunset, a sight that has to be seen to be believed.

Sixth Street
– The principal artery of the city is thriving with Austin’s energetic nightlife, Sixth Street is home to tasty cuisine, rooftop bars, and musicians galore. This city wasn’t named the “Live Music Capital of the World” for nothing after all.

Capital Cruises
– Capital Cruises provides a unique glimpse of Town Lake with a public sightseeing cruise departing Saturday and Sunday at 1:00 p.m. See an incredible variety of flora, fauna and the dramatic landscapes inspired by Lady Bird Johnson.

– Featuring Austin's Newest, Most Luxurious Riverboat!! Located on Lake Lady Bird (formally Town Lake) in Austin, TX.
